Progressive Metal band THE RETICENT have released an official video for ‘The Decision’, a track from 2016 album “On The Eve of a Goodbye”.
Front man Chris Hathcock commented:
“After months of planning, The Reticent has finally released their heart-wrenchingly beautiful new video ‘The Decision’. Taken from the acclaimed album, “On The Eve Of A Goodbye”, this new video seeks to confront viewers with the reality of suicide and the loss of a loved one. Made more like a silent film than a music video, the video’s narrative is heartbreaking in a way few music videos can be. This makes ‘The Decision’ the perfect visual companion to the tragic masterpiece of “On The Eve Of A Goodbye”. Have some tissues handy.”
Brian Kingsland, guitarist for Progressive Black Metal band ENTHEAN, has joined NILE as second guitarist/vocalist.
The band issued the follow statement:
“Enthean will be coming out with our follow-up to 2016’s “Priests of Annihilation” this year. In the meantime, our drummer, Josh Ward, is touching up the new Rapheumets Well album, while Brian is steady with Nile. We wish nothing but the best to all of our brothers in Nile and continued support for Dallas Toler-Wade and Narcotic Wasteland!”
Finnish Progressive Melodic Death Metal band DAMNATION PLAN released the second single from their upcoming new album “Reality Illusion”.
The single is a tribute to Heavy Metal legend Ronnie James Dio in form of a classic DIO track ‘Don’t Talk To Strangers’.
“For our first album as bonus tracks we created our own versions of the movie themes ‘The Terminator’ and ‘The Running Man’, to pay tribute to our childhood inspirations and heroics. So for this new album we wanted to do a cover track as well. We were throwing around some ideas to do some pop songs until the idea to do Dio’s ‘Don’t Talk To Strangers’ came up. So, instead of a hologram we came up with our own version of one of the late legend’s finest tracks to honor his legacy. So here it is – ‘Don’t Talk To Strangers’, in style of Damnation Plan!” Jarkko Lunnas

OMNISIGHT will start the new year with the release of their new EP “Power of One”, on January 20th, to follow their live album, “Live At The Theatre”, released in 2016.
The Vancouver band is influenced by bands like Soundgarden, Dream Theater, Meshuggah, Tool, and Faith No More, but try to go a step further and create their own thing.
Vocalist/guitarist Raj Krishna talks about the song ‘Power Of One’, which you can stream below:
“I think our guitar player fans will really like the new EP. I think fans of the songs will also be pleased with the thoughtful lyrics. I’m questioning the status quo. The song ‘Power of One’ is about how one person can make a difference in the world around them just with knowledge and a little spiritual balance. The album as a whole is a musical journey, there is the concept of standing up to the oppression and deceptions of the ruling class.”
Italian Thrash Metal / Prog band REAPTER released a new lyric video, entitled ‘Useless’! This is a track taken from the album “Cymatics”, which was released last September 23rd, 2016, via Revalve records.
The band explains the concept behind ‘Useless’:
“Someone escapes from his country where he is oppressed and pushed to flee to another country where the same things happen, even worse. In the end, he finds out that the only option is to come back his own country and create his own promised land there.”
