SUNLIGHT’S BANE release debut album

Blackened Grinders SUNLIGHT’S BANE will release their debut album, “The Blackest Volume: Like All the Earth Was Buried”, on February 17th, via Innerstrength Records.

The band formerly known as TRAITOR, has crafted a sound so inherently dark and repulsive that even the sunlight will withdraw and run from it! Believe me. I’ve heard the beast.

The band is streaming a new song and had this to say about it:

It’s a song not only about the oppression of people, but the worship of oppression and violence from a controlling establishment or force. It is about not only subservience to control, but the attitude of pleasure in it, those individuals who will kiss the boot stomping into their face and apologize for being in its way while convincing themselves this is the way things have always been and will always be.

CANCEROUS WOMB release “It Came To This” EP

Two years after their debut release, “Born Of A Cancerous Womb”, the Edinburgh based band CANCEROUS WOMB are back with new material shaped as a new EP entitled, “It Came To This”, out on Rising Nemesis Records.

The recordings were made across a few places. The drums were recorded in Edinburgh at Juvat Studios by our friend JamieT. Immediately after, a few hours down the M6, the guitar, bass and vocals were recorded at Drop The Dumbulls Gallery; a DIY (in the strictest sense and most genuine way possible) bar/venue/practice room/studio/house in Liverpool’s old dockside quarter, by the talented producer and drummer ‘Trippy Pijin’ of Horsebastard fame. The final cuts were then sent off to Tom Dring, drummer of Corrupt Moral Altar, who runs Vagrant Recordings in Southport. He mixed and mastered the sessions, as well as added his own Saxophone playing onto track II. The additional vocals on the tracks, from Chris Reese (CMA/Horsebastard) and Rich Speakman (The Afternoon Gentlemen) were done in their own time, using their own secret methods.” Mike Robertson (guitar)

BARROWS – Swine Race

BARROWS - Swine Race (2015)

Swine Race
Inverse Records / 2015

Welcome to “Swine Race” the debut release from BARROWS. A trio keen to take you on a violent journey into the world in which Immolation breed with Cattle Decapitation and give birth to what the Canadian band decided to call Swine Grind! Does this description do any kind of justice to the music that these guys brought from studio in this first album? I believe that is the one that comes closest to the level of aggression we find in “Swine Race”.

The nine songs presented here are filled with double bass and blastbeats attacks with a proper side of insane voice work offered by Lee Newton. Joining all this is a whole collection of guitar riffs ready to challenge the quieter individual and that, my friends, is a formula bound to dominate everyone by force.

“Swine Race” comes after a first demo released in 2014 and I believe that any Grind fan will also be starting to pay some of his attention to the things this band is up to and, taking into account everything that we can find in this first record, the future will certainly bring us more quality releases by BARROWS.
