Legendary British band CEREBRAL FIX started recording a new album, at Framework Studios in Birmingham, last August 1st. This will be the band’s fifth studio album to date, the first one in 23 years after the release of “Death Erotica” in 1992. Aiming towards an October/November 2015 release through Xtreem Music, with a working title of “Disaster of Reality”, the new album will feature new singer Al Osta (RAVENS CREED) and the return of Steve Watson on bass (also in RAVENS CREED), who already played in CEREBRAL FIX from 1987-1989 together with Andy Baker (ex-SACRILEGE, VARUKERS, WARWOUND) on drums, along with original members Tony Warburton and Gregg Fellows on guitars. This means the old line-up that recorded their classic debut album “Life Sucks…” (1988), except former vocalist Simon Forrest who left the band in late 2014. After signing with the label Xtreem Music, Germany’s CRYPTIC BROOD released a new EP this month. The new EP entitled “Wormhole” sees the band delivering a good dose of ugly Death/Doom influenced by bands like AUTOPSY, WINTER, DERKETA, UNDERGANG, early ASPHYX, HELLHAMMER, etc. CRYPTIC BROOD were formed in early 2013 and released their first demo tape “Morbid Rite” in October of that same year, followed by a split CD/LP with fellow countrymates GRAVEYARD GHOUL, released on Final Gate Records in Fall 2014. Now, in 2015, the band has recorded three new tracks plus an original “Autopsyzed” cover of SUFFOCATION’s “Infecting the Crypts”.
Just a few weeks ago, Finland’s NECROPSY released their second album, “Buried In The Woods”, out on Xtreem Music! This band started back in 1987 and recorded a few demos, all of them re-issued on a 3-CD/4-LP set through Century Media in 2013. In the early 90’s they released a split album with DEMIGOD and a 7″ EP entitled “Never to Be Forgotten”, although it wasn’t until 2011 when they released their debut full length “Bloodwork” on a small Finnish label with very poor promotion and distribution. After that they were signed to Xtreem Music and released a MCD in 2013, entitled “Psychopath Next Door”. Now, NECROPSY continues their history a second album, under the title “Buried in the Woods”, offering yet another dose of heavy, crushing, catchy and rotting Death Metal that will please every fan of the old Finnish Death Metal from early 90’s like FUNEBRE, PURTENANCE, CONVULSE, ABHORRENCE, DEPRAVITY, etc.
After last year’s release of “Djevelmakt”, KAMPFAR will return with a new album next November, entitled “Profan”! According to Dolk (vocals), “things will only gets bleaker and colder from here. “Profan” represents no hope, a life of filth, a surrender to the laws of Death and the Scythe.” Here’s the artwork for “Profan”:

CORROSIVE CARCASS, a Swedish band formed back in 2004, who already recorded a few demos and a debut album in 2012 (“Composition of Flesh”), has inked a deal with Xtreem Music who will release their upcoming album. “Forsaken Lands” is the title of the new record, which is already done and contains 10 songs of genuine Swedish Death Metal, as we all came to know it in the late 80’s and early 90’s! Cover artwork is being done by artist Juanjo Castellano and, although there’s no release date for “Forsaken Lands” yet, it will happen sometime around November/December 2015.
BRAIN TENTACLES is the latest signing for Relapse Records! The instrumental noise-jazz trio formed in 2013 and consisting of drummer Dave Witte (Municipal Waste, Burnt By The Sun, Discordance Axis, etc.), saxophonist Bruce Lamont (Corrections House, Yakuza, Bloodiest) and bassist Aaron Dallison (Keelhaul), can best be described as “improvised and structured sound that will consume, evolve and then regurgitate ambiguous noise upon its listeners”. The band will be recording their full-length debut this fall with Sanford Parker (Leviathan, Cough, Pelican).
