(Ektro Records / 2013)
This is a record to make us think after each listening session in which we sail on. More than an invitation to the turns and spins of each one’s life, perhaps the greatest reflection has to do with the genres and ambient that these Finns will skillfully unfold and gently settle in our conscious. The words that define their music find a commonplace in psychedelia, a source of truth and certainty, but they don’t allow themselves to rest in the shade with this simple description.
For some unknown reason, which escapes my present awareness, within these five songs I feel a natural connection to Nature itself. Perhaps the result of MOTHER SUSURRUS Nordic ancestry, which has provided several examples of people with the earth’s perfume within each note given to those who pass and take their time to listen. Maybe it’s the name itself to deceive this apparent link, leading to me to weave this relationship between the entity that is Mother Nature and her whisper, her slide, us.
There is psychedelia, experimentalism and an ambient different from the usual and in enough quantity to encourage the sharing of these songs with ears that normally depart from heavier sounds, just to show them how much the horizons can be extended in favor of new space where notes, melodies, slow rhythms and enough measures of trance can be perpetuated.
